I'm a member of a university gaming club. I brought these up at a meeting and the general consensus was that people were interested in them, but hesitant to actually buy them, so our guild will purchase a copy or two of each for members to check out.

It is essentially a book previewing the ARTWORK of 4th edition races and classes and articles talking about their thoughts and feelings and fluffy inspirations for said classes and races. I think the only numbers you will see in the book are on the bottom corners of the pages.
Dang. Not interested. Artwork is great (and I do LOVE art) but the artwork I have seen so far has not impressed me.

Maybe that's been one of my major sticking points of 4E. The style of artwork I've seen so far doesn't inspire me. It doesn't make me go "AWWWW, I want to play THAT game." (That and the Death of Dungeon/Dragon Print magazines, but that's a different topic.)

Fair enough. However, when you express such bafflement on a public board like this, it tends to imply something you might not have intended.

... or just as likely, someone will infer meaning that wasn't implied.

:) Unless you include a smiley face icon. No one can legitimately have bad feelings about anything when you affix a smiley to your message. :)

Nope. I most likely won't get a chance (or have the ambition) to run or play 4e until well after the core 3 are out. No point for me to buy the preview.

If they're really nice-looking and not too expensive, or if they have more information about the actual game than it currently sounds like they will, then I will almost certainly buy them. Otherwise, bet against it.

Yes, I'll buy the preview books...

... a year down the road when used copies are readily available for $5. Does that make me a bad person? :\

Note: I hope that the preview books are cool and worthy of my money.

Can't see why.

Either I will buy the core books or I will not; why the heck would I bother to spend money on a preview?
