GRRRRRRR: I posted for autumn. A post is a post even if all it is is "Not much happens." I wan't my X!!!

On a serious note I did post for autumn, thought I'd let people know. :p

We got it! Note that everyone now has an o for the current season as no one has posted yet (me included) :)

ULRUZ
Ulruz slowly regainst stability. Sporradic uprisings are put down, and the bureaucracy, government and military leaderships continue the bloody purge of potential threats from rebel loyalists. For all intents and purposes however, the rebellion is over except for the revenge and cleaning house part.

Unfortunately, many who faced likely assassination or execution fled with their soldiers, slaves and households - into other lands!

Caedmon

Glorious news! Queen Telenessa and King Dolan are proud to announce the birth of their third and fourth children, Prince Carrick and Princess Enelya. Oddly however the prince seems much more human than his half-elven heritage with only a slight point to his ears, in contrast however the princess seems almost as an elven child.

The Northgate, progress has slowed to a crawl as winter sets in and the troops are more concerned about keeping warm than building a wall. Field Marshall Torin, General Ingmar and others are now planning what to do once the wall is completed.

Prince Eldynon is preparing for his spring admittance to the Academy. Rumor has it that the two year delay was due to private tutoring, supposedly because of his interest in becoming a arcane spellcaster.

Mittendien

Rumors fly as the Kaiser is not seen or heard from all winter, and his trusted advisors take over the day-to-day operation of the kingdom. Some speculate that he has gone abroad on secret diplomatic errands. Others say he has come down with a mysterious and debilitating sickness, or has gone underground to avoid a rumored assassination attempt. In reality, unbeknownst to all but the highest circles, he spends the winter months of 65 traveling incognito among his people, magically disguised with only two personal guards and a powerful royal wizard as company. The four travel around the land as nomads, apparently carrying only barely enough to sustain themselves, relying on the hospitality of the peasantry, finding out for themselves the true state of the kingdom.

Kinrisar

The fleet returns home, delivering the sons and husbands of Kinrisar back to their homeland. A debt of honor has been repaid by the kingdom to their unlikely ally Ulruz. A new sense of pride and honor can be seen in all the citizens.

The welcoming ceremonies are officially initiated in the capital of Pari Ka'ansa three days later. A remembrance of the fallen heroes of the kingdom is led by King Hadri. It is a solemn and reverent ceremony in which the names of each member of the Infantry and Navy who did not return are recited by the king himself. Each of the noble houses who lost family members has their flag flown in the central square along with the Rishi family crest and the Kinrisari flag. This night is a night for recalling valiant deeds and noble demeanors. A feast is offered by the Rishi family for all the city and nation.

The next day begins the Festival of Homecoming. Entertainers walk the streets of Pari Ka'ansa. Troubadors sing, minstrels cavort and actors perform skits for the residents and visitors. A large fair ground is prepared and people fill it from the width and breadth of Kinrisar with goods and wares. Athletic games are sponsored and generous prizes are awarded.

The Festival is culminated with the reenactments of the key battles fought by the Kinrisari forces in Ulruz. The reclaiming of the capital city of Doluhre by General Antonius and the Kinrisar Navy lead this off. Battles with the rebel forces follow with capture of the rebel capital and ultimately that hammer and anvil defeat of the rebel legions by Kinrisar Infantry and loyal Ulruz legions.

With the homecoming completed, the cities and people now work to get back to normal life. This is difficult due to a large proportion of the able bodied men and women having been away for so long. The usual friction is encountered with reintegrating the Infantry and Navy forces back into civilian life. For the most part it goes well though.

Trade routes are reestablished with the decommisioning of naval ships back into merchant fleets. There is a great feeling of hope and expectation of profits as the mercantile houses seek to regain dominance in their old trade markets.

King Hadri has much to consider with the return of his military. Rumors abound concerning the promotions and demotions expected amongst the minor noble houses. A few minor feuds develop among those houses spoken of most commonly in these rumors.

Thoradur

It seems that the orcs caught alone or in small groups were spies indeed, because the invasion has begun.

From the rugged Alberann Mountains poured down dozens of frost giant clans. The fifteen-foot tall giants swept through the countryside crushing every small steading in their path. Dorlandus was attacked but repelled the giants as they did the Great Orc Horde fifteen years previous.

All winter long the giants attacked strategic points and entirely cut off all travel in the country. All attempts at resistance were crushed. Within a month eastern Falinus was in the hands of the frost giants. Only the cities of Dorlandus and Lorindar remained free as islands in a sea of enemies.

A strong battle line was drawn by the giants just west of the Kivik River. They control all the land south to the Oderfen River that borders on Mittendien. The giants have not crossed into Mittendien but hold the north side of the Swartzburg Bridge with a formidable force.

King Grimstone has ordered that lords gather their men and march on the frost giants, but that is more easily done than said. The dwarves have been spread too thin in recent years. They have not recovered from the Orc Horde. The mountain dwarves fight cave giants in the south and orcs in the north while the hill dwarves who suffered the most at the hands of the steppe orc horde, are worried that leaving their lands to go fight will mean they will be next. The frost giants of the Stoneroot Mountains have been active as of late. And the harsh winter makes movement near impossible for the dwarves while the frost giants move about at will.

Some say the dwarves of Dorlandus and Lorindar are doomed. They will starve or be killed. Some say there are other steadings and towns that have held out against the giants but none can say for sure.

Some say this is the beginning of the end for Upper Thoradur, that the land of the hill dwarves will be lost forever this time. A few brave heroes, giant slayers, mostly from Lower Thoradur, have answered the call. As the snows begin to melt they can be spotted on the road heading for eastern Thoradur to do what they can.

Meanwhile, the hill dwarves cry out to Galvar for help.

Paludosus

Responding to the news of events in Thoradur and the threat to the mineral resources there the Paludosan Emperor again offers the hand of friendship to both Thoradur and Mittendein in the form of financial or economic aid. After the bountiful harvest in autumn the storehouses of Karnatka bulge with grain and it is made clear that requests for assistance in feeding and caring for refugees will be looked at most favourably. In addition it is announced that Paludosan ships will be placed at the disposal of Cryndon if they wish to send aid to their brothers in the North.

Letters of Congratulation are sent to the new ruler of Ulruz but it is rumoured that a number of refugees may be seeking shelter in Paludosus' eastern provinces.

Internally the kingdom seems to have settled down after the troubles earlier in the year, although no abnnouncements have been made about the identity of those who planned the assasination of the Emperor it is common knowledge that many groups: temporal, religuous and mercantile have been trying to gather information about the events, some from loyalty and some from seeking political advantage or to lessen the influence of their competitors if the evidence points that way.
