Pissed you off? Why? I mean, it's not like they haven't shown all of those episodes before. They were funny. Especially when the mustaches moved in the same scene. *grin*

I can only imagine how many hours they spent on those things.

Yep, even the funniest joke can be run into the ground. The mustaches were funny at first, but it quickly became a case of "ok, ok, we get the joke already".

If they would have used them more sparingly, it would have been alot funnier.

And they DIDN'T mustache any of the megadeuses. I was really looking forward to what would be drawn on THEM.

I'm not sure how the Saturn thing fit into it though

That seemed pretty obvious to me.

Saturn was the Titan who killed his offspring (the Olympian gods) to keep them from overthrowing him. The old woman used Saturn as a metaphor for humankind, since they were hunting down and killing witches to prevent them from overthrowing them, as they said at the end of the series. In fact witches are called gods, and so the humans=Titans, witches=gods thing is apparent.

how the whole "300 and blah years, the coven sank in the darkness" fit in.

I'm with Toki on this applying to the witch trials. 320 years before the series (if we assume the series took place in 2002, also) would be 1682, I believe. Salem was in 1692. Also the first reliably recorded appearance of Halley's Comet was in that year, AFAIK.

right, I understand the whole "mutants will replace humanity" thing, I didn't like that they refered to the original "witches" as gods, doesn't really make sense. The word didn't even have that meaning 3000 years ago. I also didn't get that the humans were the fathers of the witches so much. They didn't destroy the witches as such until the witches fell (as gods).
So, while I see the obvious allegory, it doesn't really seem that great to me.
I wonder if in the original Japanese if it was also "saturn".

the old lady (Keep thinking Methuselah, but not sure) mentioned the burnings, so I considered that, but at the same time, I'm not sure which coven sank in the darkness, or why that's important to the plot.
Perhaps it's the founding of the modern Hunters?

I just think they tossed in a lot of stuff haphazardly, without planning it out that well. I assume it's like Big O (similar in style really) and is more popular here than Japan. Perhaps CN will arange for another season of WHR, like that did with Big O.

Also, typing all this, I think the Witch hunter Robin series would tie in with Nephilim quite well. Durn shame I don't have any players for one.

Well, personally I think the Adult Swim lineup of anime sucks right now. Witch Hunter Robin has cool style, but the plot's silly. Inuyasha . . . it's fun, but it's been on too long without new episodes coming out. Big O, . . . well, heh, when I first saw the opening credits one night on Adult Swim, I laughed myself silly, thinking, "Hamid (my friend's name), it's a nice gag, but I know you can do better." Then I found out it was the actual opening credits, and my respect for the show died. Sure, it's Batman with a mecha, but it's boring.

Cowboy Bebop is, of course, great. I officially should own the show, but my ex-girlfriend stole all the DVDs I bought. I love the show, and I wish they would show the movie on Cartoon Network. But man, they've shown that thing like 12 times now. It's time to get some new shows.

What I'd like to see - Full Metal Panic, Vandread, and maybe Rune Soldiers. And of course keep Inuyasha so that Hamid can keep making fun of the fans. He's so funny when he does that. In fact, I think that may be why they moved to the little fight sequences, to keep him from getting nasty.

I agree new anime is good, although I am old school, I still think that Macross Plus and Lodoss Wars owns all...

Back to Witch Hunter Robin, anyone else think there was a little lolita love connottion between Amon and Robin, the opening credits which are on the DVD show Robin watching him on a TV, and she seems to be reaching out to him, and the two have an odd relationship which seems to be mentor to mentee, but there also eems to be some romantic underlying imagery there...
