Besides, with all the talk of the DI/e-Dragon/e-Dungeon/Gleemax(terrible name BTW) +an announcement+web site down why do people not just make the logical assumption and believe it all has to do with web based content? Why does everything make people jump with cries of 4e?

Because everyone knows that the DI and 4e and linked. 4e will only be available as web-based content.
