Wizard Eternal Seeker

Okay, balance check here.

If I'm playing a wizard and choose to be an Eternal Seeker as my epic destiny; what happens to my spellbook dailies If I choose a Fighter Exploit with my Seeker of the Many Paths 21st level feature?

a) I do not gain additional daily spells in my spellbook (likely)
b) I gain the spells, but have no access to them (strange)
c) I gain the spells and can swap them back and forth with my new Exploit (highly unlikely).

What if, instead, I take a warlock power? It's a spell. Should it qualify me for my extra spellbook spell? Can I swap it?

Finally, if I take the Extended Spellbook feat for a third daily spell when I gain new spells, can I expend that third slot for the Fighter power and still use the other two interchangeably? How about with the Warlock spell?

It seems pretty straight forward just from the fighter perspective, but the warlock is even more curious and unexplained in this manner. If the warlock spells qualify for my daily Spellbook powers, how about bard and Spellsword when we have them? Can I be a wizard with off powers of all 3 other roles?

BTW, with the right build and minimal sacrifice, a wizard eternal seeker can keep more spells per encounter and even per day than an archmage by taking the Trickster's Controll Power from the Deadly Trickster at 30th level.

Option B seems correct. If you choose to gain the Fighter Exploit, you also gain 2 daily spells from your Spellbook feature. But since the feature only allows you to swap spells, you can't exchange the exploit against one of them during your daily preparation.

Edit: Actually I think none of these options might be correct.
Since the spellbook rule seems to replace the normal daily power allocation, it might be possible that you can legally select the Exploit, but you can't allocate any daily slots to it, since it is not a spell.

So it might end up like that: You gain a level. You gain a daily power this level, so both features trigger. You choose 2 powers to add to your spellbook, through the spellbook feature. You select the fighter exploit as your daily power, through the ES feature. It seems that you are either stuck with the exploit forever, or that you cant use the exploit because of the spellbook replacement rules, whatever has precedence.

Warlock Powers are spells, so according to the current wording with the spell book entry, they should work with the spellbook. You could choose 2 spells from this level and add them to your spellbook.

They could even be 2 warlock spells, since the Seeker of Many Paths feature seems to be some sort of triggered effect (see end of posting).

Finally, if I take the Extended Spellbook feat for a third daily spell when I gain new spells, can I expend that third slot for the Fighter power and still use the other two interchangeably? How about with the Warlock spell?
No, you can only use the spellbook slots for spells. If you choose the fighter power, you can't swap it out (see above). There is no problem with warlock spells.

Explanation:
Basically I picture the Seeker of Eternal Paths feature and the Spellbook class feature as triggered effects, triggered by the phrase "When you gain an level [...] daily [...]".

So when you gain a level that matches the condition, both features trigger. The spellbook lets you choose 2 different spells, and add them to your book. The Eternal Seeker trigger allows you to broaden your selection to every power at this level, but it doesn't end the restriction to "spells" from the spellbook.

Okay, then it becomes a question of the worth of sacrificing a versatile spellslot for a power which could be equally beneficial given the right situation. Since we have 2 (count'em hehe) arcane classes, that for now keeps it pretty balanced. It'll be interesting to see what one could do with a free leader (bard) power in your spellbook for just the right occasion.

Hehe... Like I said in my posting... Since the other arcane classes' powers are also called spells, they would work with your spellbook and the Seeker's feature.

So you could possibly change your later daily slots into a mixture of wizard, bard and other arcane powers in any combination. Pretty powerful.

Checking out the FAQ and Errata, it looks like you give up the chance to get 2 wizard spells in that slot, and you put in only 1 fighter exploit or only 1 warlock spell.

Is it in the FAQ or the Errata? Could you perhaps quote the relevant parts? :)
