Wizard just announced [Your Dream Release]

I have said in the past that I wanted interesting adventures with interesting locations. I have also said I want this generations "Tomb of Horrors" or "Keep on the Borderlands."

After hearing everything about Madness at Gardmore Abbey, I think this is what I've been waiting for. Its a boxed set and a big adventure. I like that it is heroic tier and most places in the Nentir Vale are easily adapted to homebrew settings. I also think it has an iconic feel to it. The name itself makes me happy and think of older modules. The kicker for me is the Deck of Many Things. I can't remember a campaign that I played in as a teenager that didn't have a Deck of Many Things. The fact that this boxed set comes with a printed set, man, that makes me excited. I just hope its not a cheap deck, crappy adventure and nothing iconic. I'd be really disappointed, but my expectations have become really high for this product *crosses his fingers*.

Dungeons and Dragons Essentials Expansion : Player Strategic Option Series I : Player's Handbook 4 Expansion : Heroes of Forgotten GrimDark : Cleric and Warlord Supplement, pt. I : Foozle and Glory

I would subscribe to a null-time service, or similar construct which would allow me to game more than 1x a week. A place I could spend 3-4 hours gaming and when I exited, no time had passed in the real world. Something like the World Serpent Inn from the old 2e planes supplement, but connected to our reality.

I would game more, thereby spending more on accessories, etc. It's a sound investment in the customer base. There may even be applications for this sort of thing outside of RPG's, leading to diversified income for WoTC/Hasbro.

Well, I don't think for a moment that I'm the target demographic of WotC anymore, but since we're dreaming...

I'd be really pleased if they'd re-release the back catalog of D&D stuff from 1974 through 3e in PDF and print on demand (especially the poster sized maps). Of course, they'd re-scan and fix a lot of the stuff they previously released, for while I'm thankful to Jim Butler for making it happen at all, there are some pretty shoddy scans of that old stuff. I'd also like to see the Dragon Magazine Archive re-released with fixes, even if it took some junk-kicking to make it happen.

And while we're at it, I'd like to see some of the old non-D&D TSR stuff available in POD/PDF, like Warriors of Mars, Don't Give Up The Ship, and Classic Warfare.

I bought nearly every single 3/3.5 hardback/softback book that Wizards put out, and most in my group did the same. Even the most casual player we have bought 4 or 5.....

The only book I have bought since they switched to 4e is the PHB, and out of the other 7 regular gamers in my group only 2 have bought more than the PHB.

I know for a fact Wizards could make money right now by reprinting the 1e/2e hardbacks, and they only need to sell them online through their own website.

So my dream release is being able to buy any 1e/2e/3e as a hardback and nice PDF.

You will not be splitting the fan base, and you might as well get some money out of the rpgers that are not going to buy 4e anyway.

I just want another adventure path. And minis of all the relevant NPCs. Scales of War was good, not great, but we're done with it and I'm finding myself converting pathfinder stuff for my players and it is a real pain.

Well, that's easy: just play Pathfinder. ;)

Ultralight Aircraft (not minis or books of ultralightes, but actual ultralights)

The key to an alternate dimension named Athas and we're allowed to take boomsticks and other modern (metalic) weapons.

They have successfully spliced an owl's DNA with a bears.

And new campaign setting: R'lyeh

(What? You asked.)

The problem is, Wizards just announced that my dream release . . . has been shelved. :(

(I've wanted a standalone Ravenloft game for years. I don't know if I'd use 4E as a base, or would have liked the 'playing monsters' element they were talking up, but if it's been shelved, I doubt something less D&Dish and more traditionally Ravenloftian would even be considered.)
