So there is no adverse effect on casting arcane magic spells for wearing armor? Just the regular penalty/lack of bonus for being untrained?

Can you dual weild an implement and a longsword? Say have the implement (an orb in this case) be clutched in the "shield" hand, longsword in the other... no bonus or penelty to attack or damage for either and no interferance with using the implements bonus for the weilders spells?

Indeed there's no penalty for arcane casters wearing armor any more, except those associated with non-proficiency in the armor. For wizards, this means that Leather Armor Proficiency is an excellent feat choice. And occasionallyit's a good idea for Warlocks and Wizards to wear heavier armor than that (typically just Hide, though, as both classes value Int and would lose their Int mod to AC in heavy armor).

Similarly, you can hold an implement in your off hand while attacking with a weapon (or vice versa). No penalties, no problems, no benefits either. But it does mean that you could alternate between weapon and implement attacks. At paragon levels, you'd probably want to look into Wizard of the Spiral Tower to use the weapon as an implement, but dual-wielding implement and weapon functions for Heroic levels.

Rad. Yeah i'm looking at spiral tower, but if you can toss around a few different implements in your off hand for the dailies that would rock.
