Wizard Specialization

our DM is very open on how we choose to create stats, we have played together for a while and knows we are quite honest. While have no witnesses I also have no motive to cheat(we are pretty much allowed to get stats however we want, then he looks at the sheets and then preps the session, so we get too lucky or cheat then he just makes it harder. Now I just need to keep him alive so he can acheive his world domination, uh I mean herohood.....

I would find it sad to cheat at DND, a cooperative storytelling, how does boosting your stats make it more fun, really????
Besides the best stuff always happens when something goes wrong!!!!

the funny part is the first 18 was all 4 6's rolled
the other 18 was only 3 6's (I hadn't picked up one of the dice)

I don't think you cheated. I DO Think though going Diviner would work. This would give you some REALLY great RP possibilities as well as be the guy people come to seeking answers and finding out just WHAT does this item do. Heck take a few levels bard for kicks. :)

Why Wizard?

Personally, if you're ditching the big-boom spells anyway, you may as well go Cleric. Better buffs, better divinations....I mean, sure, you can find out a lot as a Wizard, but Gods know lots and lots of stuff.....

Or maybe it'd be better to multiclass a bit as Cleric....just a few buffs, a few divinations....

Oh, and if the Druid is smart, you shall barely care about the lack of big-boom spells. Druids have some of the biggest booms in divine magic. :)

I can see the party now...

"We all buff the barbarian..."
"They attack the barbarian, roll a crit, kill the barbarian"
"We....er....cry."

^_^

That said, it should hold up pretty well balance-wise. Divinations + Rogue = Great Spy. :)

I would go illusionist, transmuter, or evoker and give up enchantment. Let the sorceress have her thunder in enchantment.

Even more, though, I'd do non-specialist. The ability to cast everything can be worth it. Just take advantage of scribe scroll at every opportunity.

Absolutely. An' remember that th' sorceress will have only a very limited number of spells. To complement that, you'll probably want to be a generalist. If she's smart, she won't be taking very many "utility" spells -- she'll be taking "in th' heat of combat" type spells, like magic missile, charm, and web.

Concider a multiclass with your (honestly rolled) stats. Try a Cleric/Wizard. Only one level in th' cleric, th' rest as a wizard. Chose domains that don't rely heavily on cleric level (Examples: Travel, Luck, Trickery). You may also want to concider being your party's go-to man for magic item creation - that one cleric level gives you mucho creation flexibility. And as a bonus, with a level of cleric, you can use just about any magic item you can find.
