Wizards' Online Presence - a personal view

Subscribing - as I did for the last year - really improved the figures; it was about aus$8.30 or so per issue. However, the international mail meant that I'd normally get my magazines after the newstands got them, or 1-3 months after you got them in the states! To say that was terribly frustrating understates it. (Some subscribers never got their issues...)

Sorry to nitpick here Merric but I thought that I should just point out that if you don't receive an issue as a subscriber, an e-mail to Paizo customer service should be all you need to get a replacement sent out. It happened to me a couple of years ago. No Dungeon or Dragon issues showed up for about 3 months. After 1 e-mail to customer service they sent out replacement issues for 3 Dragon and 2 Dungeon mags without any hesitation. And I got them in a week so they must have sent them by first-class airmail too (which would have cost them a reasonable amount).

Sure the mags got to my doorstep a lot later than those people in the US (and my newsagent and/or gaming store), but Paizo made sure that I always got them.

Just wanted to add my experience.

True enough - Paizo has had great customer service. Thanks for reminding us about it.

I think Paizo has done great things, but I do also think the day of the print gaming magazine is ending.

Cheers!

It might have gotten missed. Don't hijack this thread into a discussion of corporations, folks, whether pro or con - this isn't the place for it.

Jonathan Tweet was just posting over on Gleemax, btw. In a thread I started. I'm so happy to see more of their staff posting. :)

One of the problems that I have is that you get someone really nice posting about a game... and then they get moved to another game, so they're no longer posting about the game you're playing.

Cheers!

I've been told that before. I just get a bad feeling from any group that can claim any kinship with the rest of the Dorks of the world, and then casually brush aside the destruction of one of our institutions. And no amount of feel good PR is going to change that.

[Message deleted due to Piratecat's polite admonition to refrain from commenting on corporations. :heh: ]
