Wizards to publish cyberzine Legendology

This would be exciting news if they spent the money they saved on not printing this on paper to get real (i.e. can get published outside of game fiction) authors. The world does not need another channel for so-so-at-best game fiction.*

* Sorry, game fiction authors. You're all presumably good people, but at the end of the day, I want the best fiction I can get. Game fiction peaked with the Dragonlance Chronicles and has fallen a long, long, long way from a fairly modest height.

Wizards of the Coast is no stranger to cutting-edge speculative fiction. The company’s book division has published over thirty New York Times bestsellers while Wizards’ iconic magazine Amazing Stories has, during its eighty year history, featured the likes of Edgar Allen Poe, H.G. Wells, Jules Verne and countless others. LEGENDOLOGY will capitalize on this rich tradition by providing a continually expanding repository of new story concepts and artwork for Wizards of the Coast’s iconic phantasmagory.
Did they really just name-drop folks who died forty plus years before Wizards existed?

Man, I hate marketing.
