WOC can be nice.../taking care of troops

That was nice of WotC (of course for the PR),

Cynical. Who is going to hear about this, except for a few core role players...this is squat in PR. Corporations do this because
it's the right thing to do.

Wanting to make money, or making the right business decisions (such as cutting employees), does not in any way prevent people at a company from making altruistic decisions. The fact that they have a budget for charity work is to be commended.

Wizards: kudos.

Of course they did it for PR, so does coke, pepsi, Mtv, & every cable news station known to man. It does not take away from the good deed.

Thumbs up to the corporate bean counter that made the decision (That is the derisive term isn't it? :D ).

Okay, we have one of the best -- if not the best -- resources for D&D in the history of the universe at this site. Or people who can find such resources.

What can people here have AStott's friend in Bosnia get either by snail mail or electronically.

AStott, your friend might be interested in some of the free downloads at http://www.creativemountaingames.com.

What other sites have material that a bunch of soldiers in Bosnia can get their hands on?

I am sure we could arrange a care package as well.

Well done, WotC and all of the companies and corporations supporting service personel while they are doing their duty so far from home! :)

WotC taking care of the troops

I found this news item quite uplifting.

Thanks WotC. That was just classy. It is great to see a company taking care of
people who are sacrificing for us.
In an area like that, I'm sure the troops are going to have plenty of downtime that needs to be filled. These books should get plenty of use.

Of course, it is just a plain smart marketing move too (although I believe their action was based on more than that). In my gaming groups, about half the members seem to be former military. Taking care of military members can only reap rewards for WotC in the future.

I plan on buying a WotC product as my own little show of thanks to WotC.
