The gunship stats are in the revised book? Ugh! I was just reading that, where are they?

I agree, it'd be nice to get an Ep III book, but not holding breath.

Stats for the LAAT Attack Gunship are on page 236 of the Revised book, as are the other Core airspeeders.

The thing is... WOTC and Hasbro locked the license down for 18 years. The contract has a stipulated royalty amount attached to it and that isn't going to change over the next 18 years so if WOTC is losing money on the Star Wars RPG NOW then they will lose money in the future. The problem really is that it isn't D6. D6 Star Wars is STILL THE Star Wars game in MANY fans eyes.

Well, my understanding is that the minis also fall into that license...and producing SW minis certainly seems to be making money for them, and seems to be allowing them to meet the stipulations of the license (which apparently call for a minimum number of product releases per year).

If the license is contracted to them for another decade or so, and they have a quota of releases which minis count for, then they could change their mind at any given time and decide to put the RPG back into production. When they get tapped for ideas and decide to "go back to the well" they could reprint and update the RPG and put out a few books (maybe to drum up minis interest in the general gaming public in a few years).

We can only hope and speculate now. Just one honest word from WotC about what's going on would silence all this, but NDA's, ongoing negotiations, details of contracts ect, mean we are really unlikely to hear that (we can hope for a big Gen Con announcement though I guess ).

Maybe they just put it on hold till the epiii stuff is out. A 3rd revision will piss people off, and I'm sure they'll HAVE to revise after epiii per Lucasfilms. Yeah, it's speculation, but its fun.

The problem with that speculation is that there's nothing in the catalog for the rest of the year. We'd have known about it by now unless they're going against everything they do and keeping it super secret.

Of course, we DO know that there is one unpublished but already written book. I believe it was Ultimate Space Stations or something similar...

At the "Future of the Star Wars RPG" seminar at Gen Con 2003 they said they were working on Ultimate Battlestations, which was supposed to be coming out after Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds, and they were about to begin work (the week after Gen Con) on a Clone Wars sourcebook, with a Ultimate Starships of the Galaxy and a New Republic Era Sourcebook as projects they'd like to work on but they had too much on their plate at the time to really comment on.

It almost looks like they were well underway with making their products when the entire line was put to a crashing halt out of nowhere, stopping books that were already "in the works". (Continuing rampant speculation).
