[WoD] A Beginning to the End -- New York By Night

Melody sighs almost silently, while overhearing what Prince Morgan says to the Nosferatu. He killed another kindred, she thinks to herself. Hopefully this incident won't disturb this evening more than necessary. Oh well...

The beginning of a purge, thinks Marcus to himself. I wonder if he actually did kill the Childe, or if it's just convenient. Hell, I wonder if the Childe was really killed at all. He leans back in a seemingly relaxed pose, waiting for the Prince to continue, to name his sources.

"Eh, an interesting turn of event. Still, with that unpleasantness out of the way, perhaps this little gathering can take on a little more jollity." Paul turns to Mathew. "Odd one to be a killer, though. Given his position, I would have entertained the notion that what he might lose would stay his hand. Or fang, as the case may be."

Without question, without word, Rigger turns abruptly and begins towards the door. Some of the other vampires spit as he walks past them, and turn their backs to him. He reaches the door, which the bouncer opens for him, and strolls out calmly... into the darkness.

"With that completed," Prince Morgan says as the door closes, "I will now move on to rewarding my faithful servants, and then to the core of the evening -- tonight is to be an evening of Prestation! Tonight, our Seneschal will present his Childe to us, and we will welcome her into our community as a an able, accountable young vampiress."

On the streets of New York...
Elias rose again, slower this time... his arms could barely support him as he tried to rise from the latest assault, the dust still settling from the shattered cinderblock that made up much of the wall behind him. He crouched, and using what little energy he had left, threw himself at the stranger one more time -- and found himself held motionless in mid-air.

"The definition of insanity, Elias," the stranger said, "is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results." He waved his hand towards Elias, and sent him hurtling to the wall again, this time holding his hand up, pinning Elias to the battered wall. "It's the blood, Elias -- your blood. It heeds me, does my bidding. I offer you a means to avenge your loss, and you spit it back in my face." The stranger's outstretched hand spreads wide, and Elias spasmed and screamed, his body flexing as if being stretched out in all directions.

"You will do as I command, Elias," the stranger said as he continued to stretch his hand slowly, the screams rising higher and more deeply from within Elias with each small increment of his fingers, "or I'll strip the blood from your very marrow and spread it to the four winds."

Back at the Maze
"It grieves me that we were forced to begin this evening's proceedings with such a horrible pronoucement -- I do so hate handing down such decrees," Morgan says as he motions towards the Toreador Primogen, "but now onto better things. We have suffered a tragic loss -- every one of us feels for Elias, especially those of us who have suffered such a loss as he. Tonight, I grant to my source of information, our esteemed Primogen, the Right of Progeny -- you may, as a token of my gratitude for your services and information, select a Childe, or pass this boon to one of you own Childer."

"As we discussed before, my Prince," the Primogen begins, "I have two beautiful Childer already. They both bring me great joy, and I could not think of adding another to their number. However, I cannot decide which should receive this boon from my hand. Hence, I have decided to wait one fortnight -- I will watch and speak with both my Childer, to decide who would best be suited to increase our number. Harmony, Melinda -- both of you are wonderful daughters, but I can only give this boon to one of you, and I give it to who I think can best be responsible for a fledgling."

"But enough talk of business for now," Prince Morgan interjects. "Let everyone enjoy themselves, and partake of some refreshments. Then, we will have the Presetation."

Leaving now would insult the prince. I hate this place! I hate this moment! I am lost. What is all this political play.

Francis go back in a corner of the club where he sit and stay quiet, looking at the action in the club.

OOC: I suppose, Harmony means Melody? ;)

Sire, it's an honor, that you even consider me for this boon, but I have to pass, since I do not feel ready for this kind of responsibility yet. I still have so much to learn and I don't want to rush something of such importance. But enough of that for now... we are here to celebrate...

Melody then looks around for a dancing partner to get some distraction.

Horus' smile recedes into a frown as Rigger passes towards the door and leaves. Well that was no fun at all. He brings his attention back towards the prince and listens with interest. At the mention of the boon rewarded to the Toreador primogen, and the followed non-acceptance of said reward Horus chuckles inwardly to himself. He laughs again and nods his head slightly upon hearing Melody's refusal to accept the boon as well. So that leaves that shrill Harpy girl. My, that shan't go well.

Seeing Melody's plight Horus, using his grace and speed, approaches the owner of The Maze. Almost as if he appeared out of nowhere he was in front of her extending his hand formally. "I have not had the chance to thank you for preparing this evening young one. I applaud your decision to refuse a childe. It is my opinion that they can only get in the way, especially in one's own formative years as yourself, no?" He stares at her with his ageless eyes in what could be considered a mixture of dominance, sympathy, and lustfullness. "So please, will you allow me to thank you with a dance?"

Francis looks at Horus and Melody.

Always the same who got all the pleasure in the social events. I really miss my computer. I fell better with him than here, it is just too spooky, a bunch of bloodsucker trying to be polite with everyone.

Nick couldn't believe it... the prince was letting that bastard get away with something like this? He shook his head and looked around, not feeling comfortable here.. he didn't know WHY he was here, in fact.. If it wasn't for Vance, he would't be. 'damned if that man can't talk me into anything.' He shook his head and spotted another person who was seemingly having as 'great' a time as he was. Heading over he stopped beside the man "Well, glad to see I'm not the only one having such a FABULOUS time." He said to the man. "So is it just me or did you know that... Rigger fellow?"

OOC: These are only thoughts, right? ;)
