Ever notice how people who own really great PCs like to show off in minimum spec threads (at Bioware's BBS, not here).

I have a Athon 4 GHz and a GeForce 10! Will my PC run it?

I like this response:

Brandons1313

Will my computer run KOTOR?

50ghz
1 terabyte of ram
Radeon 35000 pro

Come on you people. The man gave the minimum requirements on the first post. I recommend You read them
My video card can beat up your video card. Nyah-nyah! :p

It's the computer-geek equivalent of how some monkeys establish dominance. :p I was guilty of it in chat rooms when I got my brand-spankin' new P166 with 32MB (!!!) of RAM and my 6MB (!!!!!!!) Voodoo 1 card (Canopus ruled when they made consumer-level products).

OK OK...it was in a chat-like room on a BBS/ISP I was subscribed to. I also bragged to players in MUCK I played in.

Now stop showin' my age. :P

I have enough memory, sufficient hard drive space, a good enough video card, but my processor is 200 MHz too slow to meet the minimum specs.

Well I have a P3 866, with a Radeon 9000, and 512 mb of RAM. I haven't gotten to far yet and while there is some hiccupping, it’s nothing that makes it unplayable (not even close so far). I do have the graphical setting all the way down (except for the textures).

Not to turn this into a religious debate about processors, but newer Pentiums have done quite well against AMDs.
The problem with buying a new mobo/proc now is that you probably have PC133 RAM (or maybe even PC100, depending on age). Newer mobos use DDR RAM, so you gotta buy new RAM too, and at that point you may as well just look into buying a new system, when you're already replacing half of it.
