Well, when you are dealing with the machinations of some eleven or twelve different demon lords, you can't really ignore Orcus. Much like trying to have a pizza without the crust. It's a messy and strange experience that's doomed to fail.

hate most about Planescape (with the possible exception of some of the art).

And it's that sort of criticism (among other things) that pushes Lady Lynkhab (mild NSFW) into psychotic, suicidal depression. So please Merric, please have a heart and think of the Abyssal Lords. :(

...or something like that ;)

But on a more serious note, every product line has its moments of greatness and a few moments best swept under the rug. As much as I liked PS and most of the artwork, we'll agree to ignore the existance of Tony Di's lightning mephit. We'll stick with his erinyes and be all the better for it. *grin*

And that said, I'd eagerly waiting for an art gallery for the EttDWP because the teaser images for Graz'zt, the LoP, etc were quite nice. I don't normally buy modules, but I've got this one on pre-order, both for subject material and author's knack for the material. Should be good stuff, and I'll be happily cannibalizing the material for my own campaign.

Tharen,

That he does. *didn't think that was as scantily clad as some he's seen in his years for females in fantasy.*

One line caught my attention:

The giants and drow series were both much better, not to mention things like Tomb of Horrors.

Now, I entirely agree with the first bit. I do believe the giants and drow series were better (particularly as I recently cracked open my G series modules for a bit of nostalgia tripping). But Tomb of Horrors? Why is that being held up as a great bit of adventure design? Actually, my question would be, why would a very good adventure designer like W.G. point to that module in particular as a "great module" since it departs pretty heavily from what I've read from him the past. (Wow, that was wordy.)

Good question! The only thing that is great about it is that it's a great way to end a campaign (which is exactly what I've been using it for...).
