Wonky Keyboard Punctuation Problem

So, I was playing me some StarCraft last night and after accidentally turning off the terrain in the minimap, I found my self randomly hitting key combinations in an effort to turn it back on. I eventually did, but in the process I seemed to have done something really weird to my laptops keyboard because some of the keys are coming up with really weird things now, but only in some programs, like MSN Messenger. For instance, when I want " / " I am getting " é " and when I want " \ " I am getting " < " . I was wondering if there was anyone who might know what the heck I did to my keyboard, and how to undo it. Thanks for any help.

Edit: I should add that looking at the regional settings in the control panel does not seem to do anything, and it is on Vista.
