Working on the Gods of Primal Rage

Flame Draconion

First Post
Ok, so here's the idea. I'm making a campaign in a world similar to the world in the video game Primal Rage. Now the main changes are that this does not go to modern times and become post apoc. but rather a moderate world of magic (depending on the god you ally with will determine if Wizard is open) Druids will be open, and cleric is rather selective (i.e. a trial to determine if you are "worthy" to receive there influence) now i would love to make this a joint effort and post on a website all credit going to everyone involved. Please email me or respond here. One a note also, if I do not reply to you for abit i am in transition (moving) but I will respond quickly when possible. Thanks mates

So, the dinosaurs/ape-things are actual gods, instead of just critters ?

I've played modern games involving magic, and as to what I've seen, druids are fairly weak in that kind of setting. Animals just aren't common, and the druid has no interaction. Would the world be partially destroyed, putting man a bit more into nature ? An idea, any supernatural powers would come straight from the "gods", like the snake-cobra-thing might give necromancy, and the gorilla might give fighting prowess... Something I've done before is that classes are extremely rare, and not everyone earns them. Maybe the "gods" bestoy them ?

Um... random ideas. :D

heh heh, i remeber that game!! Was it a Sega Genesis game?

Don't thnk i could be of too much help here with anything, but thanks for the reminder of those awesome days :D

later!

Hey there! :)

You know I seem to recall an old issue od Dragon Magazine which had stats for all the Primal Rage characters (it was so long ago I am sure they are 2nd Edition stats).

Off the top of my head its something like issue #221 (or fairly close to that).

I'm sure I have the sisue, I'll have to go dig it out.

The world is going to be standerd D&D-ish no modern influence...yeah no modern influnece, and yes the critters are going to be gods. Clerics are going to have to earn the respect of the god so it bestows divine magic to them. So you can imagiane charlatens running around. I figure it will be an in-game test to see if they can become a cleric...maybe offer abit of a bonus until they are official and can turn and cast spells. I got the idea after going through Heroes of Battle, and I loved the game so "voila".

Right now (on vacation wo-hoo!) I am working on Diablo and Sauron. The two t-rex's (though Diablo is described as an allosaur, his arms are alittle short of that though). Mostly Diablo. I'll see if I can posted stats by Sunday.

sounds like some neat concepts here! You officially have a fan!

Now, I could help with a few things, i suppose. I wouldn't get too terribly far into this, but do you have a website for this game? or at least system/company name so i could look it up myself. I'd love to do some broad world-building stuff, like gods, class building, races, etc.

I could see alot of "half-" templates floating around, seems to me that there would be some guys that are the decendants from the gods and such (favoured class: cleric or fighter).

I don't know if you have heard about it, but d20 modern has a book called d20 apocalypse which you might want to buy - even if you are doing this with standard D&D rules and not d20, most of the stuff in there would be easily tranferable.

Just a few thoughts here - please tell me what i can do to help out here :)
