World Largest Dungeon Cheap

I've been hearing on RPGnet that Amazon has started "out of stocking" people on their WLD orders. Anyone here experience that yet?

And by "a friend" you mean "my game store." :D

Mine has shipped, I hope to see it tomorrow. If nothing else, it'll provide enough maps to keep me busy for the next century. :)
Nah, got one at the store. It hasn't sold. I'm talking about a guy in my gaming group whom you've met before. ;)

There's one at Dragon's Lair that's going out of business here for 40% off, and it's not selling there either.

Got my confirmation email that my WLD had shipped less than an hour ago, so if this is true then I must have grabbed one of the last copies.

Hmmm. Did AEG overproduce? Or overestimate its appeal?

It seemed to be the talk of the show at GenCon last year. And even though I saw up front that I would never run the thing from end to end, I thought they did a good job for what they did.

It would be hard to say if they overproduced, since we're only seeing overstocks at the retail end. Retailers with $50 invested in this one product are going to want to move it however possible after a few months of gathering dust. I think it's a cool product, and a lot of others do too, but the number willing to buy a straight dungeon crawl for $100...I think it's a tough sell, and not the product I would have chosen to test Dancey's $100 hypothesis.

Out of curiosity, what product/type of product *would* you choose for a $100 price point?

Got mine at the cheap price, too, a while back. $40 is quite reasonable for the amount of content and the cool maps! Of course, I'm a cartography junkie :) All in all, a great deal!
