Worldhopping to Athas, Jakandor, Rokugan and others

You of course realize that according to canon (again FWIW) is actually a continent on Toril that lays east of Faerun (Forgotten Realms)

I know that Maztica is a continent west of Faerun on Toril and that Zakhara is a continent south(east) of Faerun. Is that what you meant?

Not sure what world Jakandor is on though.

Jakandor is an island about the size of Britain. It's not set on any particular world - currently, it doesn't have any contact with the outside world, so you could justify putting it on just about any world (except maybe Athas).

Any suggestions for the Rokugan or Jakandor adventures?

For Rokugan, a Shadowlands, Naga, or Unicorn/Burning Sands would be best - it is very difficult for gaijin to get along. They would need some sort of help in such a politics-heavy world.

Finding out about the Taint can be quite harrowing to your players, certainly :-)

While the 'old' d10-system L5R stuff is not exactly compatible with d20, these books are 80% story and background, I would recommend checking some out too see what appeals to you.

Rokugan

Thanks. I was thinking of using the Shadowlands because of the Taint. Any suggested locations? I have Rokugan, Magic of Rokugan and Creatures of Rokugan.

I'd appreciate advice on handling a PC wizard from another world visiting Athas -- how would defiling/preserving work/

Cheers

I only have experience with the first boxed set of Dark sun, and in there preservers are just like normal wizards, defilers get quicker advancement in return for their defiling. From the horrible novels it was sort of a choice at every casting, preserving seemed to take longer so increase spell casting times as a sorcerer and metamagic to preserve.

Your multisetting sounds interesting, beware of economics going into Athas, the metal an average character carries is liable to get them jumped as if they were wearing mithral.

Remeber that the races are pretty different culturally and physically there, halflings are deadly cannibals, dwarves are hairless, everybody has psionics, is high level and has super stats.

Jakandor, do you have the wizard, barbarian or combo module for the setting? If you have only one then focus on the one, Jakandor is actually better for low level because they have recovering magic knowledge and tons of low hit die zombies.

Good advice -- thanks!

I have all three Jakandor modules. No ideas for an adventure plot yet, but I want to introduce the PCs to both the Charonti and the Knorr. You're right about the power levels in Jakandor. I see this adventure as being more roleplaying than combat.

Since all of the adventures will have some kind of ruin/site for the PCs to explore, I may use the large Charonti city in the third module, but I'm not sure yet.

Cheers
