World's Largest Dungeon, 800-1000 pages, US$99.95, 1 million words, 100 maps

Hm... Amazon usually sells books for 30% off. If this is true, then that's 69.99. Then the Share the Love list kicks in, and another 7 bucks knocked off...

Yep, I'm game.

I was thinking the exact same thing. :)

I just don't see a need for this book. I rarely use actual dungeons as it is. Why would a dungeon this big even exist?

PHB, DMG, MM, and dice == ~US$100
World's Largest Dungeon == $100

For $200 you can get about two years of gaming or 20 very full weekends. Sophmore year in college I would have killed for something like this. Of course, my girlfriend at the time would have dumped me, which in retrospect only makes this purchase more appealing.

Okay, a big dungeon. So what? Why is it there? Is there any sense to it? Or is it great just because it is big?

Nope, not seeing a lot to draw me towards it.

I pretty much lost interest when I read "World's Largest Dungeon". Why couldn't it be the "World's Largest Adventure"?

It's a matter of taste of course, but I'm so sick of dungeon crawls. What I'd really like to see is a book about the same size for an entire campaign (levels 1-20). There is a lot more to do in D&D than crawl around in a dungeon.

Still, I'd like to see it just for kicks.

I do think they have to have reason for the 'dungeon' that return trip hook. Broken down palace, city on older city thing to get players to keep exploring.

Yeah, but how could you expect players to stick to an entire 20 levels of pre-written plot? There'd have to be a lot of railroading going on.

The dungeon format doesn't have as many issues like this.

One of the sample rooms had a bunch of spiders, scorpions, and beetles hanging out, not eating each other, waiting to attack the party; another had a...templated ghoul...that...attacked the par...zzzzzz...
