World's Largest Dungeon...come and go?

Some really good ideas for both sides.
Well, in comparison, Ruins of Undermountain, was a giant school/lab for a mad wizard, and that's a dungeon that has no restrictions on entering or exiting, that seems to work. That one seems a little heavy handed though, as the wizard 'restocks' the dungeon or some such thing.
Anyone seen a 3e version of Undermountain around, a homebrew?

I vaguely recall reading somewhere of a Return to Undermountain product in some stage of development at Wizards.

If I was certain WLD could be run as a come and go dungeon with little difficulty I would already own a copy. That's my preferred style of play.

I think I might go with the option of planting a key or two to get out of the dungeon a few levels in, some sort of jewelry looking thing, nothing obvious. THe archons could identify it if asked.
Then only the PC with the 'key' could leave and enter at will. It's not full 'come and go' but it's not leaving the group fully trapped either.
Then again, there is something to having to survive this setting.

Well ruins of undermontain have big map, but only a small percentage of the room are describe in the books. Then the dm is free to customize the empty room as he see fit for the size of his adventure, but i dont think that many people have play 2 years in undermountain.

Hello,

Well the dm can simply allow go in go out from the original entrance of the module. This up to the dm with not much thing to change in the module.

(spectre72) What Fantasty Flight Games Legend & Lairs book were you using? Was it DungeonCraft?

Yes I am using portions of Dungeoncraft.

I am also using a modified version of the Random Encounter System from Wildscape which is based on the parties survival skill for determining random encounters.

I have also tweeked the thirst and starvation rules from the DMG to make it possible for a PC to die of thirst or Hunger.

It's as simple as that, then? Maybe I'll get it now.
