Drink: There are fountains and other water sources around the maps
Food: Roasted Goblins on a stick....yummmy!

There's an area of the book that tells you how you can have food and water work.
It suggests that the simplest solution is to say not to worry about it.

hmm

it's pretty lame to tell PCs not to worry about food.

It would be better if there was some tasty underground critter to catch. Or an edible fungus. or both.

There are rats, right? Rat is a delicacy in much of SE Asia. I guess adventurers had better acquire that taste ;-)

Or there could be UnderChickens.....

They mention the fungus idea.
They mention probably a dozen alternate ideas for food and water.
But mostly they say make it fun and style it to your own liking.

For my game, the magic properties of the land will aid with making food last (1 days food will give you 1 week of nourishment), but not water.

Even though I haven't picked the book up, I just assumed that the players would live off of their kills. It's the only efficient way to explore the place.

And orcses don't taste very nice, do they, precious?

No.... not nice at all.

But Goblin on the other hand! MMMMm MMMMM! Them's good eatin'!

There's a creature in one of my books... One of the TOH books, or... damn... I can't remember. It's a really cute creature, but an excellent food source. Maybe it was Gamma World... I'll be introducing it into my WLD (when I finally GET the damn thing).
