World's Longest Wait

And Specter72, yeah, I know not everyone has a local hobby store. You'll note, that in the part you quoted me on as a matter of fact, that I said you could order from another online retailer. Now you'll probably only save $20 bones that way as opposed to $32 + tax + s&h, but well, them's the breaks.

Sorry if my tone was a little off.

I just get a little miffed when people start going on the whole online vs. FLGS thing.

Has something to do with not having a LGS, without saying anything about it being friendly :heh:

I probably should have ordered from someone else, but hindsight is always 20-20.

I have always gotten my orders from amazon, even though once or twice it has been a little bit of a challenge.

So here is to crossed fingers that they will get the product in stock so I can start reading what everyone else is :)

My FLGS owner ran out. I asked him if he was gettting any more in and he said that he would try, but thought the run was almost gone. He didn't expect a reprint because he heard they were losing money on each copy (don't know where he heard that one).

Man, $100 for an adventure? I don't know about that one...

Which is exactly why people ordered it from Amazon for $68. :)

I'm in the waiting boat. It's not the waiting per se that frustrates me, it's the fact that the original estimate was so very much off and that I've heard nothing from Amazon about availability. I don't (usually) mind waiting, but I very much resent being told I'll have to wait X amount of time and then come to find out I have to wait 2X or 3X or even 12X amount of time.

Amazon does definitely seem to have gone downhill. I was a pretty regular customer about five years ago, but haven't ordered much from them in the past few years. The big difference I've noticed is that quite a few things I might have ordered from them they either don't stock or if they do I wasn't able to locate, even using an ISBN search (the first Tome of Horrors and everything from Goodman Games spring immediately to mind).

I am very tempted to abandon amazon and order it from stiggybaby.com, but I can wait a little longer.

But, Joe is right, you want cheap, you get to wait.

*sigh*

I too have ordered items from Amazon and waited for what felt like an eternity. In my case, it always seems to happen when I order from one of their z-store affiliates.

I can't say that this is the case for the World's Largest Dungeon, but I wouldn't be surprised. :\

At the same time, I feel compelled to mention that I almost always choose the cheapest (and, therefore, longest) shipping available because I don't mind waiting when I order on-line. :p

All good things come to those who wait. I've only had one bad experience with Amazon, and it was when they cancelled my pre-order of OGL Steampunk and told me it was cancelled from the vendor. Then they put it back up again the next day.

I had some amazon friend money to spend, so I put it toward this, which brought my order down to 50-something. I can definitely wait. :D

I was in the same boat, so I went and cancelled my Amazon order (you can do that before it ships), and ordered from here:

http://www.usacomicbooks.com/woladup.html

It's $71 dollars, and with shipping $78 dollars, but I received it in 5 days.

I'd rather pay the extra $10 (still more than $20 off the cover price) and get it sooner.

Thanks for the info on this.

I e-mailed them and they said they had the product in stock.

Amazon says the item is backordered with no expected arrival data.

Can you guess what I did

Once again thanks.

Scott

You think that is a long time? I am still waiting for the next season of Dr Who to start and I have been waiting since 88 for that, so we are up to 16 years. ;)
