Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

4) Yes. They are salvaging most of the iconic D&D experiences and inserting them in the PoL (but they don't directly state it as such.) Ther have locations of note for each plane, and they include the City of Brass, the ToEE (no mention of Hommlet,) Isle of Dread, Vault of the Drow, to some.

Isle of Dread! Good for them. Now if they can add a wizard plateau nation called Glantri. That would be cool.

Anything interesting on Devils? Their new fluff, etc?

Anything about how one gets around in Elemental Chaos? It's all the ellements rolled together, but is it big chunks or like Limbo. If it's big chunks, do they talk about getting from one chunk to the next?

As much as I love Devils (in the game, as opponents) I haven't read much of that part yet. Probably because a couple of the preview articles gave me enough of a taste (and I like!)
I'll let you know if I scare anything up.

Elemental Chaos... ranges from chunks to much larger. No discussion of jumping from one berg to another.

Yeah, I know! And how about these new guys called yaun-ti? I mean, c'mon. That doesn't even sound like a real word, plus the hyphen!

And they're snake people? Doesn't D&D have enough reptilian individuals? Oh, wait, they're also evil and they have Man/Snake taurs? C'mon. The 70s called, they want their pulp creatures back.

Ahem.

There's no hyphen in yuan ti.

The other one who had the book mentioned Dark Ones in the list of creatures found in Feywild.

I found one line for ya: "Formorians command the fealty of redcaps, dark ones, quicklings, and other evil fey..."

Hey Reaper Steve, first off, thanks for sharing your info with us!

Second, does it say much else about quicklings? They are one of my favorite monsters ever! :)

No prob... I think it's a great book. (I think I prefer it over R&C because I am realizing how the D&D story--or lack thereof--was just as responsible for my growing dissatisfaction as the rules. I love where they are taking the rules, but I never dreamed they would put the same effort into the world story!) I'm trying to help others decide to buy the book without wholesale content sharing.

Quicklings... they don't say much, just a couple name drops like the one I quoted for Kobold Avenger. I think we received more info on them from a podcast.

But, there is a picture.
It's a pencil and resembles a minis concept sketch.

It's frightening... not your 1e quickling... I don't know how to describe it.
Imagine if H.R Giger drew Stitch's head (from Lilo and Stitch)...mouth full of needle teeth, long bald skull with large pure white eyes (no pupils) and almost WoW-sized pointed ears (a little more devilish and tilted back.)
Tight skin over a thin yet mucular body. No clothes, just a leaf lioncloth. And a dagger (short sword?) in each hand.
Below the knee, you get another knee. You know, like a dog--leg goes down, then back, then down again. The quickling's end in some big-for-its-size three-toed talons!
the whole package goes together really well.

As you can guess, I think it's great! I think it is the image that best personifies that the Feywild is not happy Faerie.

OOO, sounds good, glad they are heading away from happy go-lucky Fae.

Also, on the the ToEE, this is more simply my own idea... But I am very tempted to turn it into a Tower of (Something) Evil. Sorta like the Dark Tower from... Dark Tower. It would be a Tower at the centre of all the Material Planes (and their shadowy counter-worlds, ie: Feywild, Shadowfell).

It would be extremely dangerous to go near thanks to all the planar-shifting that happens around it, but if you do manage to venture into it, it would allow travel to other planes.
