Worst D&D products ever.

My knowledge of products is quite limited, but here goes:
Deities and Demigods (3e)
Fires of Dis Module (2e)
Fiend Folio (1e) (Collection of dumbest creatures. Evar. Pretty iconic though ;) )
Complete Psionics Book (2e)
Song and Silence (3e)
 


Well, I;ve got a sacred cow in my sights here:

Tomb of Horrors

Its rediculously arbitrary and unfair, a monument to everything that was wrong with old school dnd. It doesnt do much to reward good play and routinely end-runs around the power of the characters.

No adventure, for instance, should have a situation that provides a flat percentage chance of each character dying (the gas and juggernaut thing), regardless of their actions or their stats. And no adventure should have a "if you don't read my mind within 5 seconds and do what I'm thinking of you all die" trap either (there are a bunch of those).

Am I making somewhat subjective judgements? Heck yeah. Am I a young punk@$$ with no respect for where one of my hobbies came from? I'm sure that Diaglo et al probably think so, and maybe I am. But that still remains my view in this matter.
 

All of the FR products that were thinly disguised in their translation from the real world. After hearing about how much great stuff Ed had in the Realms, TSR proceeded to pee in the realmsian pool with products that made no attempt to utilize the things that made the setting special.

The worst offenders are the Horde and Maztica, as they ripped off specific historical figures, as well as the surrounding cultures. But the other ones get under my skin as well. How can you not be disappointed to get a supplement on Anauroch only to discover that most of the book is a bunch of stuff you could have clipped out of a National Geographic article on the Bedouin.

I don't fault Al-Qadim or Kara-Tur as much, as they were D&D genre attempts shoehorned into the Realms, but the others leave me in a rage. I'm glad that the 3e Realms products have focused on doing the right thing with the Realms (even though I don't play there).

Exactly what you described. These are the oldest race, they should have better stuff then the other people. I found it all very fitting, elves thingk there stuff is the best; they are egotistical. And abilities for only one race is a good thing. It makes them different, if everyone can do anything it makes the races a little less different from each other.
 

I liked Deities and Demigods though the classes were all around in terms of power.

CBof Elves was awful. Glad I never spent the money to buy it.
 


That would be difficult to say, as I don't have that many prior to 3.0.

I mean, I had the Three Little Books, Greyhawk, Blackmoor, Eldritch Wizardry, and Gods, Demi-Gods & Heroes, along with The Arduin Grimoire (vols. 1 & 2) and Empire of the Petal Throne, but then nothing until 3.0.

Of the 3.0 books, I have been less than thrilled with Mystic Warriors and Unearthed Arcana, but otherwise I've been pretty happy (as well as pretty selective).
 

I can honestly say that I've never been truly unhappy with a D&D product. There was a couple of early d20 ones (publishers no longer existant), but even the "worst" D&D book I ever picked up, I felt was at least a low average.

If I had to pick a worst it would be Kingdom of Irendi, but I have a bad habit of comparing most products to Principalities of Glantri.
