Any word on when the Player's Guide and the first adventure for WotBS 4e will be ready?

I am holding back on starting a new campaign, and I can't keep these players at bay for much longer. Pretty soon they might be talking me into a 4e conversion of Rise of the Runelords!

It has suffered from the editor having a car crash, a family illness, and then being sent to Iraq or Somalia or somewhere, followed by the layout person's mother falling over.

Asusming no further tragedies occur, the PG should be out by the end of the week. But I've given up promising anyone anything! Then we have to get the CG out, which means another round of timely tragedies, no doubt!

Are they dumping the 3E version? I thought a company couldn't produce both 3E and 4E. Has the GSL changed in that respect?

Saying that I bet a company could create a sister company, sell all their 3E stuff to that company for a nominal amount and still conform to the GSL.

I think that means "Yes" the GSL changed in that respect.

This Monday was the first meeting of my coworkers that accepted my D&D invite. The plan is to play through this adventure saga. Until then, I'm just running them through scenarios so the players new to the game can get the hang of it and we get used to each other.

I ran them through the D&D Game Day adventure that I ran last year. Next, I'll run them through the adventure in the Dungeon Master's Guide. Then through the first level scenarios from Dungeon Delve.

So, it will kinda suck resetting them to zero at the beginning of this adventure path. But they have a free pass to change and adjust their characters between sessions if they want until then. I'm thinking of giving them a promo when I start the saga. Such as a free 1st level magic item.
