they're working on the FR book, i'd guarantee it. they'll probably announce it sometime in the spring and hopefully release it by this time next year.

They'll probably announce more stuff at Winter Fantasy. I was hoping for a Greyhawk book. But I agree that a Forgotten Realms book is almost a given.

I think it'll turn out differently than people expect. I think they'll stay away from pure Setting books, and instead release only adventure paths and the things that are necessary for those adventure paths (i.e. The Elemental Evil adventure path has its companion volume). I, for one, love this idea, especially if they keep it up like this. I'll take two adventure paths each year, personally, over anything else. (I doubt we'll get an OGL for a while, unfortunately. I don't think that if you made your own setting and AP you'd have much problem releasing it, though; e.g: Necromancer Games. As long as you aren't including existing monsters or mechanics or pictures, you'd be fine. That may just be me, though.)

I'm wondering if Elemental Evil is going to be based in Forgotten Realms; I'm not familiar with the older adventures that deal with similar themes, as I tend to stay away from Elemental stuff (no real reason why; just never came up).

I'd be willing to bet that, after Elemental Evil, we'll get another FR-based adventure path (wasn't there some rumor of something to do with Giants?). After that, its a toss up between Eberron and Dark Sun--I'd bet Dark Sun, as that seems more popular than Eberron (at least, in my opinion). Greyhawk I expect after Eberron and Dark Sun. Greyhawk has been out of print for a while, so don't expect support for it for a while.

What setting am I forgetting, besides Spelljammer?

Wizards has previously said that everything from them will be loosely set in the Forgotten Realms. At-least with products announced so far officially or through distributors.

Do you have a link for that? That's new info to me.

Uh, I don't recall that, and have seen contradictory things to it.
You seen somewhere that the Elemental Evil or Tyranny of Dragons wasn't set on the Forgotten Realms? I most definitely read here that they were. They are the only two adventure paths known at this point and both are tacked onto the Forgotten Realms.

Tyranny of Dragons is set in Forgotten Realms. I have not seen confirmation that Princes of the Apocalypse is set in the Forgotten Realms, nor any broad statement "everything from them will be loosely set in the Forgotten Realms."

Reading the description of the "Princes of Apocalypse" it states

Called by the Elder Elemental Eye to serve, four corrupt prophets have risen from the depths of anonymity to claim mighty weapons with direct links to the power of the elemental princes. Each of these prophets has assembled a cadre of cultists and creatures to serve them in the construction of four elemental temples of lethal design. It is up to adventurers from heroic factions such as the Emerald Enclave and the Order of the Gauntlet to discover where the true power of each prophet lay, and dismantle it before it comes boiling up to obliterate the Realms.

So, indirectly, it states that the adventure will be placed unfortunatly in the Realms.
