Damn, I should have made a parody of Umbran and mods on April 1. Then it would have been OK and in good fun. Oh well, there's always next year.

On paper those all look like pretty good concepts, yet you are dissmissing it as a joke because you are only considering the trite "4e is a videogame/4e is becoming a card game/oh noe 5e is coming" cliches.

If you don't find it silly to propose a game where you have to play a card called "Angry!" in order for your character to get mad... I'm not sure what to say.

Using cards in a game isn't inherently absurd - but the portrayal of such things in this joke is, and that's part of the fun.

I actually thought the cards were real for a second there. When I figured out it was joke I was definitely relieved.
