WotC does listen

As long as you are not a long standing FR fan.... :p
Oh, they still listen to you. But whether or not they are going to do things your way, that's a whole another thing. ;)

Or, to put it another way... game design is not democracy. It's utter foolishness to not listen to your customers; but it's equally foolish, I think, to let your design be controlled by the said customers.

First, Eberron, now they announce that they will convert all minis to the new version of the skirmish game. This announcement is on the minis main page, and is different than the one on the marketing page.
Link please? I am still finding only how they will entirely convert the 3 most recent sets, but only 60 minis from the earlier sets. Found the info. Do note the timetable of the rest of the figs is not set and as such may take as much time as errata updates.

We’re proud to announce that every D&D Miniatures set, from Harbinger, Dragoneye, and Archfiends through next month's Desert of Desolation, will be converted to the new 4th edition skirmish rules.

Starting with the most recent sets and fan-voted “all stars,” these updated stat cards will be posted as PDF downloads on wizards.com.

This doesn't change the All-Star voting plans -- you'll still get to see your favorite 60 minis from early sets in July as previously announced.

Our current release schedule for skirmish stat card updates is as follows:

January 2008: Desert of Desolation, plus a free PDF download of the new rulebook so you can start playing the new minis game immediately with your Desert of Desolation minis.

March 2008: Night Below

May 2008: Unhallowed

July 2008: All-Star set (60 minis from sets 1-11 as voted by the community on the D&D web page)

We will announce the schedule for future conversions as our plans solidify.

Thanks,

The D&D Miniatures Team

I'm very happy for the Mini and Eberron fans! Designers being responsive to suggestions from the fanbase is a good thing. :)

They do listen, and they are human....

I'm glad they are doing it. But I wouldnt say its because their human. Its because folks would be LESS willing to shell out the bucks for the newer minis knowing in teh past....WotC just kciked their collectiosn to the curb.....

Its a business decison, not a human one.

Actually I have it on very good authority that anytime someone starts complaining about FR changes, WotC employees are required to stick their fingers in their ears and say "La La La La La..." really loud.

The human part was more in response to how they've been treated (especially by longstanding FR fans) on line.

Heck, my son is upset about the FR changes, and he's only been a fan for as long as he has been able to read, which is only about 6 years now. But, as I told him, you need to embrace change in life, and see what comes. Change is what makes the world interesting.

You are a smart one Carmachu.

Now stop wasting time, get off your computer, and go buy some D&D stuff. The meter is running :p
