WOTC Gnoll Skeleton Mini = Bad Design ?

Hi,

I have two gnoll skeletons -- both are bent over at the ankles. The (human) skeletons are suffering from a similar problem.

Cheers

Friend of mine and i got a lot of Bone Devils and most of his tended to want to limbo or duck. I'm thinking weak ankled devils are not that horrific looking. There's nothing worse than a devil cackling at you while staring at the ceiling. :D

Those bone devils were not limbo-ing; they're in bullet time!

I've read that bent plastic minis can be fixed by warming the miniatures, then carefully rebending them into shape & letting them cool. Somewhere, there's a page or post that describes the process.

Hopefully, MerricB will be along and have some idea . . . :)

I am thinking of maybe glueing a clear plastic stick (like a swizzle stick) to the back of them and see if that helps.
Has anyone done anything more drastic then the Hot Water trick ?

they melt very easily on the hot ring of an electric stove. :]

I thought that was the cure for bad dice ;)

wristrocket is a better cure for bad dice.

or microwave oven set on high for 30 secs. (so you can load them to a certain number... cheaters take note... this can cause explosions/implosions due to the varying power of microwave ovens and the quality of the die)

That doesn't work for the gnoll skeletons; they gradually tilt over again. It works for others though.

As I said earlier, I think there was a problem with the original molding/drying process where their "normal" shape ended up being tilted. Heating them allows them to be bent, but they'll always go back to the original shape. When you use hot water on other minis it works b/c they've been bent out of their original shape and can be returned with some heat and bending.
