WotC has a milking machine now (Draconomicon I)

Draconomicon was hands down my favorite book of all 3rd edition. This is just bad. To put it in my own words, 3e- the more complicated system got metallics, chromatics and more in one book, yet the supposedly more streamlined system-4E, can't. No, it can. It just won't do it. Hmm.

Let us how our books without complaining please. Why does it matter to you? Are you somehow insulted by other people buying books? Is it some kind of crusade to find everything about 4e to be a flaw?

Strange thing, opening a new thread and seeing no posts. (not even the OP).

Err..

So, the same person that believes that Dragons in 4E will be useless and impotent and wants to give them more abilities (spells, specifically) does not want a rulebook discussing Dragons? Or just doesn't want more then one?

Otherwise, the title is probably correct, except there is no need to relate it to the Draconimicon. We're talking about the company that sells Magic: The Gathering and D&D, right?

I like the idea of splitting up the chromatic and metallic dragons into separate books.
Don't know that. If you want to discuss "Dragon Politics", it might be nice to have them both in one book to describe their relations stronger.
But maybe "Dragon Politics" is reserved for book III, and I and I go more into details on ecology, draconic rituals and draconic masterminds of the chromatic/metallic dragon type...

While I can certainly see the 'cash grab' argument, look at the simple set up here:

All the evil dragons (or chaotic or 'mostly bad' dragons or however they work out) are now packed into one book. Likely with some nice fluff, examples at various levels and a few pre-gen'd lairs.

Price-tag aside, is any of that bad for DM's? Or is it instead (as I consider) a very good thing?

Might not work out well, might not be in high demand, might be bound in the skin of babies... But let's at least look at why it might be a nifty idea first eh? WotC clearly have done. I'd have liked the Draconomicon for 3.5, it was one of the books I didn't buy.

What could be found in a draconomicom book :

- stats for different dragons types (don't forget that dragons are supposed to have more difference between the different types)
- dragon rituals
- dragon-themed powers
- dragonborn racial powers
- dragon themed feats
- dragonborn racial feats
- dragon-themed paragon paths and epic destinies (dragon rider, dragonborn acendance into a true dragon, ...)
- dragon themed base class(es) (unlikely, but if they have a good idea that they found too specific for a PHB)
- dragon treasures
- dragon themed magic items and artefacts
- dragon(ic) religion(s) (with the new importance to Tiamat and Bahamut, their draconic aspect could be expanded here)
- exemples of several dragon lairs
- some uniques named dragons (maybe including their lair and treasure)

... and I'm not making the distinction between chromatics and metallics dragons

I would'nt be suprised if after a first Draconomicom WotC still had enough material for at least one more book about dragons.
