I voted folder.

Neither is ideal.

Books are a pain to photocopy/use/demonstrate to players.

Folders slowly wear down and loose sheets get lost.

I'd prefer binder format.

I voted for book. Should I decide to buy such a product I would want a book so that it might last more than a couple of sessions.

I can easily cross-reference my DM's notes with the printed page without having to seperate them, and my players would only see the sections I drew on the dry-erase board as they were uncovered.

Definitely book.

I wish they spent more time explaining what the differences would look like. As it is, I generally like my maps to be spread out on the table during play, and easily traded out for others. Hence, I voted folder.

I didn't see the button for "lame, low margin product that should be produced by a D20 company" so I voted for folder.

Honestly what are they thinking of doing, publishing the "Map of the Week" dreck in a hardbound book? There is only about a dozen excellent products already out there.

If you are looking for maps check out Dark Furies (http://www.darkfuries.com/floorplans.shtml), Wrymworks (http://www.wyrmworks.com/), Stainless Steel Dragon or try to find some old Woolly Mammoth Enterprises maps (now there were dungeon maps!).

I honestly wouldn't even consider buying a "map" product from Wotc, especially if they resembled in any way the last years worth of "Map of the Week".

I voted folder. I like to make copies of my maps so I can write notes on them and it is easier to copy a loose map than one in a book.

Book.

Folder products turn into loose page garbage after
about a month of use. Sure, it's a pain to copy stuff
from a book, but I'd rather have something that will last.

They didn't ask if I would spend my hard earned cash on the product, they just wanted to know which I would prefer so I voted book. Honestly I wouldn't buy it no matter what form it took but generally speaking I feel that way about most WoTC materials lately.

I voted folder because they're easier to copy. I'm not worried about them getting damaged or lost, because I take good care of my stuff. Of course, it helps that I DM at my own house.
