WotC Messageboards Down?

It's been down for awhile now, I talked to some people in the chat room, but no one knew what was going on..

EDIT: Oh, Doxie's on it, it'll all be good sometime :)

I like both sets of boards for different reasons.

I like the CO one too. Of course, we had a contest going so the day the characters are due, the board goes down. :p Seems about right.

It may be the beer, it could be my real opinion, but regardless dont take this personally, any of you.

Who cares about wotc boards... this concentrated forum of untellect (deliberate) and passionate gamers is far better. For quality meats buy Quzgars!
Don't you mean entellect? ;)

I don't mind the WotC boards ... but I have to about 95% more picky when choosing which threads to read, some people just want help ... others, well I try to avoid the others

They have been down for quite some time. They are horrible nests of trolls and flamers, but can provide good info from time to time. I am a nut for the Eberron board at the moment.

We could prove our supposed superiority to WotC by sticking to the topic.
I was a member of the WotC boards for a little while when I was drawn to the EN World forums by a topic that came up on the WotC d20 Modern board and spilled over here - the EN World thread turned into a "what a bunch of losers on the WotC boards!" thread, rather like this one, actually. I pulled the above quote off the since-locked ENWorld thread.

For what it's worth, speaking as a participant on both boards, I've received more frequent and more helpful feedback on the WotC boards than on the ENWorld boards so far.

More troubling to me is that I've noticed an arrogance manifested by a number of the posters on ENWorld that I find very off-putting - I'm not sure anyone should complain about "horrid nests of trolls and flamers" while sitting on a squalid pile of sticks and guano.

It certainly hasn't given me much of a reason to become a community supporter - perhaps the folks who want to demonstrate their supposed intellect and maturity should consider that their actions very directly affect the financial resources of ENWorld before deciding to look down their noses at other gamers.

Here endeth the rant.

For what it's worth, I went over to the WotC boards and that cross thread and apologized to the folks there after the incident.

I'd say more about this, but you're really not supposed to quote from or bring up threads again when they've been locked by the moderators. ;)

Seriously though, Shaman, I was sincere in that apology and realize what a jerk I was. I hope you can look past that and enjoy your time here, and not let one old fart having a bad day sour you on EN World.
