WotC Messageboards Down?

:D Welcome to the EN World boards! :D

LOL, Fair assesment...

I have been browsing for a while, but I have limited my forum time to the SWRPGnetwork and WOTC (non SW boards), so I could still have some timer for family. People have raved about ENworld for a while, so I thought I would come on over and see what the Hoo-Ha was about.

Lots here worth reading, I think. Friendly place, so just ask (on the appropriate board or in the META forum) if you have trouble finding anything in particular. Good bang for your buck, timewise, on the EN boards, I think you'll find. (Hmmm... Posting like Yoda, I am.)

I've been here so long, I'm sometimes stark raving about it. :p

Hmmm... I wish I could offer something in the way of an explaination, but the best I can offer is speculation only slightly better than an educated guess. WotC switched servers in August. The newer machine is capacle of (and has been handling) a lot more traffic. I'm guessing that it might have overloaded a router.

Or perhaps a capacitor or something blew out on the motherboard. These things happen. But exactly what happened - I have no idea. The only thing I know for certain is that I didn't cause it :P

As far as the random pot shots between boards, please - don't guys. The last thing I want is the two houses I have to work in to start squabbling.

EDIT: It isn't a router - another server of WotC's on the same LAN is accessible.

Michael - Please, don't overreact to a couple of loose comments in an otherwise civil thread. If people need chastising, be specific. Otherwise it appears that everyone is being held responsible for the words of a few that represent neither the whole, nor even the majority. The tone of this thread has been overwhelmingly friendly as opposed, I guess, to past threads that compare or contrast the two message boards (which is inevitible and nearly impossible to try and quash, anyway).

Guys, let's not start a board war, eh?

...and I think you misspelt "bored"... :D

Mark, I'm not a moderator - so don't interpret what I say as the forthcoming doom of a banhammer. Actually, I do have a banhammer, but there's a note attached.

Still, wasn't questioning the sentiment, just the targeting. :)
