I liked that one! (edited...talking about Forest Oracle...meant to quote)

Okay okay okay...maybe because its nostalgia, and maybe because long ago we built our campaign world around it.

Wait...its the rose colored glasses!

...../grumble....still fond of it...just saying. :D

And nicely incoherently also!!! :)

There is a nice list of things up there and I'm definitely going to peruse the list at leisure and see what I want

I especially appreciate the bundles.

It always reminds me of the Nonsense Song -

Nonsense Song

It was midnight on the ocean;
Not a street car was in sight.
The sun was shining brightly,
And it rained all day that night.

‘Twas a summer’s night in winter
And the rain was snowing fast.
A barefoot boy with shoes on
Stood sitting on the grass.

The rain was pouring down,
The moon was shining bright,
And everything that you could see
Was hidden out of sight.

It was evening and the rising sun
Was setting in the West.
The little fishes in the trees
Were huddled in their nest.

While the organ peeled potatoes,
Lard was rendered by the choir.
While the sexton rang the dish rag,
Someone set the church on fire.

“Holy Smoke,” the preacher shouted,
And in the rush he lost his hair.
Now his head resembles heaven,
For there is no parting there.

I saw a great, big, tiny house
Ten thousand miles away.
And to my view ‘twas out of sight
Last night, the other day.

The walls projected inward,
The front door round the back.
Alone it stood between two more.
The walls were whitewashed black.

I just checked the Dieties & Demigods preview, and it looks like it is a printing that does NOT include the deleted Cthulhu and Menibonean pantheons. Disappointing, but not unexpected.

Yes, not unexpected. I wonder if they could get those now a days?

I'm hoping the core rules will be available via PDF - I do have the 2E PHB, DMG and MM from Drivethru from the last time around. And it isn't like the 3E core rules aren't available via the SRD, 1E via OSRIC and the like, so what would the real benefit be from not making a buck off someone who wants "official" copies instead of clones?

There's probably still some legal agreement from the original case/action that prevents them from making it available. Though those agreements could be bound to the defunct TSR, inc.

Actually, the story is in the RPGNow description of the book, which points out that TSR willing pulled them from the book after coming to an agreement that allowed them to be published.

As of this moment, 10 of the top 15 at RPGNow are all D&D titles with the Basic Set being number 1, and B2 Keep on the Borderlands as number 2.

There wasn't actually any litigation around the presence of the Cthulhu and Melnibonean mythoi in Deities & Demigods. After some discussion, Chaosium were okay with those being included, as long as they received an acknowledgement in the front of the book. Thus a "special thanks" message was added for the second print run. TSR then decided that they'd rather remove those two mythoi than mention a competitor in the book, so they were chopped for the third print run.

Interestingly, we know that the scanned version now being sold as a PDF is a fourth print, because it still contains the special thanks to Chaosium on page 4. TSR initially forgot to remove that note, despite Cthulhu and friends no longer appearing in the book.
