The WOTC Setting Search Winner has been revealed to be a swashbuckling steampunk campaign setting, with dinosaurs. Obviously much more has yet to be revealed, but what do you think about the basic premise?

The question isn't "Do you like Eberron?" its "Would you want to play in a Steampunk setting?" That's certainly something anyone can have an opinion on.

I agree, Kai. Whether it is magic or steam, the effects are the same.

Anyway, back to topic, I have a hard time seeing myself enjoying steampunk swashbuckling. How does one swing from the rigging on a ship with no rigging? :p

The first image that popped into my head when trains and flying machines were mentioned was Harry Potter. I would rather disembowel myself with a garden trowel than play a game in a setting that had any resemblance to that.

Steampunk is even worse.

Steampunk just dosen't do it for me, but if had been well done I might have tried it...but its the Dinasaurs that kill it for me, inmho.

I'll stick my boring and predictable FR and 'Hawk!
