WotC Setting Search

Remember that whacky setting search and the mighty thread that lasted hundreds of pages?

Good times...

There were so many good ideas floating around at the time, and I know that many of them were catalogued by EN World. I'm interested in any updates -- any settings developed, or morphed into other forms? I've sold a couple of short stories based on my setting proposals.

So, yeah... whatcha been up to? :)

I published my setting myself (actually only part of it: Tremon: Kingdom of Sorcery). This year I'll be giving the 1st book an overhaul, and planning on getting out more of the world. We still use it extensively as our personal game setting, though I'm trying new stuff (Fringe Campaigns: Soul Harvest).

I recently re-released my setting.

Bound in a Hefty-bag, this extremely limited-run collector's edition was snatched up by the fine folks at BMI Waste Services.

If you hurry, you should be able to catch it at your Friendly Local Land-Fill.

many of the setting submissions were published by 3rd parties.

Dawnforge, and Midnight are just two examples.

Dawnforge (Fantasy Flight Games) was one, but I'm pretty sure Midnight was not a semi-finalist in the setting search. IIRC, I don't believe it was even entered.

Morningstar (Goodman Games) was also a semi-finalist.

The three finalists are property of WotC, one being Eberron, the other two are unknown, AFAIK.

Not sure about the other 6 semi-finalists.

Ok, you didn't hear this from me, but of the other two finalists, one is Mörka Solen - kind of a Norse-style, magic-ravaged desert world with psionic Vikings.

The other is some BoEF tie-in called F.A.T.A.L.

But you didn't hear that from me.

I was one of the semi-finalists. It was called the Sunset Kingdoms and will be published in late July by Goldleaf Games (www.goldleafgames.com) under the name 'Code of Unaris'.
