Mega-Manga-Porn-World!

Let’s face it…
…if you have not heard yet then you have not won.
This is disappointing but not the last chance to get published.
Perhaps I should have gone wish my “Mega-Manga-Porn-World” idea after all.

maybe

"the people who do hear back that they're setting submissions are moving on to the next stage will almost certainly be asked not to say anything"

still sounds to me that not even asking people to say nothing hasn't been completely finalized, so i'd have to say they haven't sent out anything or else he would have just said people have been asked to not say anything.

No,

Let's face it....

Either way, it's all conjecture until we hear some sort of official announcement.

Notification may or may not have been made.

Until WotC says otherwise, all these "reality checks" are simply the glass half empty viewpoint, and no more valid than any other.

A couple of observations:
Also, color me opinionated but I think it's silly to go on full-blind. Even if they don't want to know which submission is John Nephew's, which submission is Doris Eagan's, and which submission is Kelly Anderson's, knowing that all three names submitted would not be harmful, I think. Especially because hopefully they won't recognize all of the names. :-)

If it does turn out to be some people they know, it will be much easier to pick them out of a small pool. I usually could recognize stuff from people I knew when I used to read hundreds of blind fiction/poetry contest submissions. Anybody who writes well enough to be worth looking at has a distinct style, and a person's topical preferences really give it away. If you know Joe is always talking about flying islands and Planet of the Apes, it sort of leaps out at you when you read a submission about the Flying Island of the Apes.

Actually, I just received my confirmation from WoTC that I won the contest. The next D&D setting will be Harn! And the highly-anticipated 4th Edition of D&D will be HarnMaster!

...Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk! :D

I just want to stop having to check my mail every so often. Its getting quite annoying having to check for mail...

...only to get mail from people who _i dont want to hear from right now_.

I believe they'll be sending email for any non-winners that they possibly can. that would be the smartest way to do it. 10,000+ letters via mail would be what, $3600.00? email is free, and everyone's notified immediately. Then they just have to mail the remainder of the pile who have no email listed or from whom they get a bounce message.

I remembered seeing a message from a direct WOTC person (don't remember if it was anthony or someone else) saying they would be sending responses to EVERYONE, winners or losers. I hadn't seen anything that they had changed their stance, though I guess it's possible since they weren't expecting 11,000 entries.
