A fear just related to me:

'O god! what if they sent me email and I accidentally deleted it when fast-deleting spam! Bad habits! Bad fingers! Augh!'

Yeah-

Me too. I get so much crap, sometimes I'm afraid I'll delete something essential. It would be just my luck...

Just thought you guys might like to know I got an e-mail today that (I e-mailed them because my address has changed) they said just to send them my new info, they're supposed to be sending out the announcements tomorrow. So, they really did wait until the end of August but tomorrow's the day I guess :)

Woot!

So are people still thinking of posting their submissions after notification goes out? Will there be a nice topic for it tomorrow afternoon? A sticky one? ;-)

I doubt it'll need to be sticky if we're posting 10,000 setting submissions...

Ava....

Avatar_V, r u pulling someones e-Leg (or iLeg), or r u serious?

They said that they'll be contacting everyone at the end of august.

Seriously tho, i'm expecting WotC to get blocked as a spam mailer. And hence, everyone _wont_ be getting their respone letters.

I hope that they send the acceptance letters first... there should only be 10 of them.

Depending on how they send it out, yes, it could very well be blocked as spam. However, I'm sure they have a smart enough IT department to figure out how to send it correctly.

Blocked for spam? That's not spam.

True, but only you know that. It doesn't get filtered by an e-mail system based on content, but rather based on the number of addresses it's being sent to. So if your e-mail filter sees an e-mail addressed to 10,000 people, it will assume it's spam, cause it doesn't know better.

...

It would be relatively easy to block all 10k of them... if the current IT system works the way it might.

For instance: Alot of the yahoo, hotmail and various other mass mailers have a [this is spam] button.

This might report the mail as spam. If a few people do that, it might elevate the mail to be distributed to one of those net-wide ban lists.

Those companies that work with those lists might then filter out all duplicate emails that match certain criteria (ie : from you.have.lost@wizards.com) from their networks.

GAME OVER
