WotC Take Note: If DoaM is core to 5e I will buy it!

Have fun playing those non-D&D games you love...
I always do!

Got a FATE game I'm running tomorrow! I hope to ensnare two more souls and forever turn them from the love and light of D&D.* Wish me luck!

....since you hate D&D so much and DoaM was the only reason for you to buy it, I guess we'll see you around for the 6th edition rules.
Oh, DoaM wouldn't have stopped me from hating on D&D. They'd have to change the game so much it wouldn't be D&D anymore**, and then where would my hat go? Nowheresville man, Nowheresville.

So honestly I hope D&D stays D&D. I need something to kindle the fires and stoke the inferno of my hatred!

To everyone else who's been arguing for damage on a miss, :p
They do not have my preferred return smiley here. But you can imagine it!

I was about to quit this hobby entirely if they kept it in there, this was a very close call for me.
Someday I'll like be super mega rich enough to buy D&D from Hasbro and totally, totally ruin it exactly the way I want and then like die a lonely embittered old man weeping for my lost enemy and gasping out one last word as my body slumps dramatic like into final rest or some junk.

"Gygax!"

* Too late, they're dirty, dirty GURPS lovers through and through.
** Classes, Levels, Alignments. They vexes me soooooo much!

You're a day late and a dollar short, buddy.

You probably shouldn't hold your breath too long.

Looks like Evokers need to get updated. Their "half damage on a failed Cantrip save" feature doesn't look like it was updated when all the cantrips switched to attack rolls.

To the ProDoaM Faction I've started a thread in Houserules about putting DoaM back into 5e:

Putting the DoaM back into 5e...

You guys can join me there to chit-chat about different ways of fixing this travesty of justice whilst sipping the beverage of your choice.

To the Anti-DoaM Faction, your welcome to join in the conversation and help with the Houserule designs.

The solution is clear and right before your eyes : Damage on a miss is fully supported in 4th edition, and 13th Age, which you are already playing and seem to prefer.

But your houserules don't impinge on anyone else's table, so discuss all you wish. I just find it funny that it's suddenly so important for you to have influenced the rules to support your pet mechanic but you didn't bother participating in the playtests at all, and on top of that you generally hate D&D.

If you enjoy playing games that you hate, be my guest. Nobody's stopping you.

Yeah.

They dropped the ball on that, because that feature don't actually work with any current wizard attack cantrips. It will need a day 0 errata, not just an FAQ sage advice. By raw it doesn't do anything.

Potent cantrip should have just added Int mod to damage on cantrips, similar to Two Weapon Fighting adds Str/Dex to your off hand attacks.

I'm not playing 13th Way. I hadn't even heard of it until 2 weeks ago. I have still haven't bothered to check out the rules.

How magnanimous of you.

I did participate in the playtest. Every step of it.

My group didn't, they didn't want anythign to do with it, but I read the rules, did some theory crafting, tried out some experimental combats, gave my feedback.

I just didn't participate with ENWorld.

Again, how gracious of you. It's nice to have confirmation that nobody dares stop me from playing my way! ;)
