I think, so far they are a disappointment. ;)

I don't know if they update it regularly (doubt it), or if there are some inherent problems with the new Gleemax software, or if it's a bandwith problems because millions of people want to know about the new edition?

Not surprised - just irritated.
*grumble* "...still Alpha..." *grumble* "... angry fanboys..." *grumble* "Amazon debacle" *grumble* "...pdfs on net..." *grumble* "... 4e launch ..." *grumble* "...Gleemax, my ..." *grumble* "... DDi waste of ..." *grumble* "... forums down ...." *grumble*

Personally, I'm not sure, but seeing how often error pages come up, database problems, I think they're heading towards a crash with possible database loss/corruption, if they don't start to fix it faster. :erm:

Cheers, LT.

Yeah, they're a mess at the moment – over here in London (UK) time they go down between 10:00am and 12:00PM everyday, and also crash out at random times outside of that.

Yesterday, even when the site was up, you couldn't access any actual forums.

WotC has always sucked when it comes to digital stuff.

Their old site was buggy, their software was buggy and late, their new site is buggy.

(The forums are still better than most digital stuff they do.)

Cheers, -- N

What's with the WotC fourms - they go down a couple of times a day!

I believe they have a randomizer that decides when they are up. Every hour, it is consulted, and on an instance of "1" out of "20", they boot the servers, otherwise they stay down. At least that is how I imagine it works.

Its weird, for the last year, the forums have (unless down for maintenance) worked far better for me than say ENworld, which has been extremely slow most of the time. I still come here, since it is the best place on the interweb (for D&D stuff anyway), but WotC's forums have worked just fine. Until now that is ><
