WotC_Dave: Color Power!

The text clearly indicates if a power is daily or encounter. Color is a secondary, or even tertiary, tool in sorting them.

FWIW, half the dev team is going to see Iron Maiden in a month or two, so that should make up for Dave's music.

What's wrong with the other half?! ARE THEY GOING TO SIT AROUND AND CRY AND HUG IN A FIELD OF POSIES, MIKE?! ARE THEY?!

Regardless, Murderface sees you are going to Iron Maiden, and Murderface....approves?

Speaking as what appears to be the only color blind person here, the reds look good, but I'd have to see the greens to say.
Speaking as another color blind person, I agree. The thing is, it isn't actually that difficult to make reds and greens that color blind people can tell apart. Color blind, not brightness blind - so just use different brightness in addition to different colors and we can tell them apart just fine. If WOTC put any thought into it they could figure that out.

However, the lack of blackness in their "black" isn't a good sign.

"Anyone got a good green button to debuff that gish striker?"

(sigh) ... I feel so old now.
Ouch. I swear, if any player says something like that, I'm gonna smack him with something.

But the people speaking that way are probably not at my table in the first place.

"Pressing his black button", LT.

I wouldn't worry about people saying that exact phrase.

1) Referring to a striker is hilariously vague. It's like seeing an elephant walking down the street, and saying, "Oh no, that animal is stepping on my car!" I'm sure it must violate a conversational maxim.

2) Ditto with gish.

3) When you're asking someone to debuff someone, why do you want to specify that it has to be a green button (at-will power)? What do you care if they use their encounter power?

None of this addresses the real concern, which is that game jargon is stupid. No argument there. But it's much more common on the internet than in real life. So as long as you don't read or post on any message boards, you should be fine.

I think the best solution to the color-blindness problem is to add "Scratch n' Sniff" printing to the core rule books.

The green at-will powers could smell like a Pine Tree, the red encounter powers could smell like a Tomato, and the dailies could smell like Black Licorice.

Someone call the printers...
