Would Terra Nova be a good campaign setting?

Why is it when I post such massive replies that nobody says anything afterwards?

I would also suggest posting at forum.rpg.net if you haven't already. I generally find that a better forum for discussing non-D&D games.

I'm only vaguely familiar with Terra Nova but I wonder if it might blend well with Julian May's Saga of the Exiles?

I think it would.

And actually, when I sat down to watch the pilot, I thought that that was what it was based on. Alas...

Hmmm, thinking about it more, there are other sources you could borrow from. For instance, Primeval and Primeval: New World had portals in time- past and future- opening at random all over England and North America into our present, with the exact cause being unknown. It could be that the same portal tech that allowed the colonists back in time had some unforeseen (or underestimated) side effects.

I only saw the trailer but I was hoping it was going to be Saga of the Exiles-based. Anyway, it doesn't matter now.... ;)

I've never watched Primeval. Hmmm, maybe I should grab the first series for a look.

Maybe. I gave up on the TV show while watching the pilot (because it stunk!), so I'm not sure if the setting is developed well enough to serve as the basis for a campaign.
