Would this work?

characters all of one class can work, but Warlock will be a tough on. Unlike other classes Warlocks don't get a lot to customize. Fighters can go for different weapons, clerics different domains and spells, Wizards differe specialities different spells, etc. Warlocks can differ with skills race and feats, but the main part of that class does not change. So, you might end up with a lot of characters that are a lot a like.

If you don't like gestalt you can just specify they have to multiclass. Everybody is, say, a 5th-level character, with between 2 and 4 levels of Warlock. Everything else is up to them.

Then you start a warlock-hunting inquisition... :)

I know from experience, playing in a similar campaign (all multiclassed sorcerers), that it hurts. A lot. Any "by the book" fight (with encounter level equal to party level) ends with half our party in the negative. That's why I advised gestalt.

As soon as we hit level 6, my character will take Leadership to attract a nonsorcerer cohort. Maybe a healer, it would be perfect.

Yeah, the GM definitely has to adjust encounters for an all-multiclass party. But some people really don't like the gestalt idea. I think it would work out to much the same thing if you just treat the multi-class party as if they're a level or two lower than they are.

And, of course, you can't hit them with XP penalties for multi-classing. That's just mean. :)
