Zelda's being done.

Final Fantasy is being done.

Everquest is done and *published*.

Fill the rest of the niches? Go ahead.

heh...I think we need to develop something like a Videogame d20 Webring. The Zelda people can hook up with it. My FFd20 project can hook up with it. We can link to the EQ site. I like it. :)

I agree with mr. Chauzu. "..Saving the Princess in the Mushroom Land!"

There's this poster called Dfloyd84(?) who has a good conversion site for Zelda, Mario Bros. and Metroid.

I'd personally like to see conversions of Age of Wonders (and AoWII), Desert Strike (well, that's for D20 Modern, obviously), Monkey Island (I really don't care which or how comprehensive it'll be, just gimme something to start with) and Warcraft III.

I don't think there's anything wrong with adapting videogame RPGs to the pencil & paper format. They often involve similar design considerations, and are stuffed with useful setting or system ideas. I've pulled the runes out of Suikoden with great susccess (they fill ring and necklace item slots, so they inherantly involve a trade-off) and did classes from Wild Arms on one occasion (Second Ignition is really good for this). A good Filgaea sourcebook would be a great reference and possible setting for play. And the world of Suikoden practically begs for it.

It would cover alot of games, more RPG then action, the list of good games choices is something like:

I would break it up by game instead of trying to make one giant conversion.

Many of the games you listed were rpg's that had their own unique touches to them- and would deserve detailed attention instead of generalization.

Plus- as a fan Suikoden, I would probably be irritated to see it sharing space with Mario or Kirby. ;) They are fine games, but not on the same level of story or complexity.
