Would you buy new 100% compatable 1E modules?

Also, some of the OSRIC products follow in the tradition of modules like G1. That is, no boxed text to read, concise descriptions, plenty of room for the DM to interpret things, et cetera. G1 was what -- 7 or 8 pages of description? But there was a lot of adventuring packed into that page count.
I agree that brevity isn't necessarily an indicator that a product isn't good. However, I tend to agree with Treebore's point. It is pretty hard to justify buying a gaming product that costs almost $1 per page.

These days, I don't much care what system it's in, as long as it's a good module. I'll just end up converting it to my homebrew anyway.

I'm done with converting....just can't stand it anymore. I must be getting old! :(

First post here in a long time.

Yeah, it's pretty good, but I hear the author's a real jerk. ;) :D

Next time I have dinner with the publishers I'll make sure and tell them that. You are said author I presume?

Yeah, that Boney cat. Tell them to keep an eye on him because I hear rumors that he writes weird private jokes into his manuscripts. There's no telling what he's really saying and to whom. ;)

Well, there's always the $5 PDF. Quick and easy to print out too, given the page count. ;)

Would lower priced materials with less professional production values be accepted? I don't mean poorly written or poorly edited, but all black-and-white, little or no artwork, et cetera. What about PDF only, along those lines?

I would take that. I have rarely bought modules just to look at the pretty pictures, but rather to use the material. Things like the illustration section of EttBP was nice when you have unusual things to illustrate, but art has always held a second or third consideration when buying a gaming supplement.
