Did you not notice in the most recent "which classes do you use?" poll, that monks were significantly behind all the other PHB classes?

That's just because Monks are lame. ;) Seriously, I think that the psi rules can cover Ki and those eastern elements rather well. That's just my opinion though.

What I find striking in that poll is just how much the psionic classes are used given the fact they are not core rules and you have to buy additional material to use them. Looks like about 50% of all the people that use the core classes also use the psionic classes, despite the added barriers of having them in your game. It makes me wonder how many people do not use them simply because they are not in the core rules.

Wow people. Mental powers, internal energy, psionics, ki, it is all the same thing. Psionics are in 3E as long as the monk is in 3E, and have been in the handbook since it came out.

I would bet that a lot more than 50% of people use the feats and classes from the class splatbooks (S&F, DotF, MotW, S&S, T&B), despite them also not being in the core rules.

I have voted against even though I use psionics in my game. I like the seperation, since I think the decision to include psionics is a very powerful one to determine game flavour. I don't think my next game will have psionics for instance.

I'm with Rav. To do psioncis right, you need a whole book anyway. All you psi-guys can just consider the PsiHB as "Corebook IV" and it's all peachy. :)
