My gut says that WoTC will put up a half-dressed effort.

It could be freaking awesome too, and I really hope for that. I get frustrated using things like Heroforge that don't have all the sourcebooks entered into them in a timely fashion.

But I voted No, I don't think they can do it.

I feel like I've gone to my favorite restraunt and found out they've been serving me dog-meat all this time.

It's not like the RULES, which you MUST go back to...

Pay for an e-zine version? Hell no.

I don't want to have to pay for the ink cartridges I would need to print what I use at the gaming table, and I dont trust WotC to do the job right.

I wish WOTC would sell the license for D&D (the whole dang thing) to Paizo, or Troll Lords (with close pal Mr. Gygax), or Goodman Games (of Dungeon Crawl Classic fame).

What I'm saying is: gaming companies are best run by people who care more about making good games than about milking the a half dozen variants of the Completely Useless Book of Crunch each month.

If we don't buy it, maybe they will go away . . .

And where's the blatantly obvious "I need to wait and see what it's like" button?

I agree. I expect that I won't, but I don't know that I won't.

WotC will have to put out such a huge amount of quality content at an incredibly inexpensive price for me to overcome the bad taste in my mouth of the process. Essentially that have severed important ties with companies I supported (specifically because of their ties to WotC) to launch the initiative. That gives me the impression of them attempting to bully me into accepting their plan (buy from us, because you are no longer going to get this information from elsewhere). I'm not tempted to be seduced by this plan.

However, I'll admit that if the content has a very high and consistent quality, and the price is sufficiently low, I would subscribe to the content. However, given WotC's track record in this area, I have high doubts they are capable of this (particularly in the electronic tools area).

Oh, it's gone. Unless they re-licensed to Paizo, how could they survive the impending off-switch that will be the care that was subscribers.

Remember whent they tried to resurrect Amazing after crapping on their subscribers by cancelling that one?
