Maggan,

Yeah and then watch your subscriptions tail off. The worst thing you can do is making something a training ground and expect people to pay the same as you would for a regular novel.

Well, I didn't mean exclusively a training ground for new writers. That'd be stupid.

But a Fan Material section would totally fly, as long as there's an Official Material section as well.

/M

Uhm thing is...Dragon did that and so did Dungeon...and they managed just fine without resorting to going "online" to show off stuff.

But hey what do I know? I'm just a kluge. :p

Jakar,

I judge based on the fact that PREVIOUS web content on WotC site a) rarely works, b) works for a while then changes, c) doesn't even bother trying to be interesting.

Reading is supposed to be fun. It's not fun doing it via a computer screen, let me tell you.

(And this is going on...+12 hours of no sleep too!)
Well, this new venture may be different. We do not know who is writting the content so it is to much early to know anything about it all, but hell, let's write it off before we know anything about it and mourn for good old days.

Jakar,

Content won't matter crap if you can't access it properly. That's my point. It could be the greatest piece of writing EVER, but if the web designers can't figure out how to properly MANAGE it, then why bother using it?

I'm not against new things. I'm against New things that don't work right or properly.

I'd say, definitely get Glory Hole (despite the obscene name) for a mid-level, old-school dungeon that looks like great fun.
That one (among others) I picked up in print at Half-Price Books. I agree that it looks fun; I haven't run it, yet.

Tegel looks great too, but you might want to wait for the re-release print version if you run 3e.
I'm running C&C. I may pick up the 3E version, though. I thought the 3E versions of Thracia and Badabaskor were good (although higher on the power curve).

I've never, ever, purchased anything from WOTC and I'm not likely to start. (The only thing that would persuade me to put so much as a single penny in WOTC's coffers would be if they reprinted 1e.)

But we have not seen it yet to know if it will be managed right or not? who can say until you see it.

Writting it of before we see it is just plain wrong.
