But, are your players similarly inexperienced? If they are, it's okay for you to be the DM . . . but if you have large gaps in your knowledge, it might be best if you learned the basics of how spells, psionics, etc. work before trying to DM. Also, it is usually a mistake to try to DM players who are vastly more rules-literate than you are.
